FREE & FAIR ELECTIONS
Why are Free & Fair Elections Important?
Free and fair elections are the foundation of self-government. They give citizens the power to choose their leaders and hold them accountable, without interference, intimidation, or manipulation. When elections are secure and every eligible vote is counted accurately, the outcome reflects the true will of the people. When trust in that process erodes, so does trust in government itself. Protecting the integrity of elections — from voter access to accurate vote counting — is essential to keeping democracy legitimate and functioning.
What Can I Do?
Register to vote and make a plan to vote in every election. Verify information about voting from official, nonpartisan sources rather than rumors or social media. Consider volunteering as a poll worker or election observer in your community. Support policies that protect ballot access and election security. Report — but always verify before sharing — any concerns about election integrity through official channels.
