Why is Integrity Important?

Integrity means public officials and institutions do what they say, follow the rules even when no one's watching, and put the public interest ahead of personal gain. It's the difference between a government that earns trust and one that has to demand it. When leaders act with integrity, citizens can rely on the system to work as intended. When it's absent, corruption and self-dealing erode confidence in every institution, from courts to city hall. Integrity isn't just a personal virtue — it's the glue that holds democratic systems together.

What Can I Do?

Hold elected officials accountable for their promises and their conduct in office. Support transparency measures like public disclosure of finances and conflicts of interest. Vote based on character and track record, not just rhetoric. Speak up when you see corruption or abuse of power, and support journalism and watchdog groups that expose it. Demand the same standard of honesty from leaders that you'd expect from anyone you trust.
